Milen Epik has over 20 years of experience working with global Fortune 500 and midsize companies in linguistic technologies, globalization, software development, training, internationalization consulting, account management, and sales support. In 2006, she founded Epik Solutions Corp., which was shortly after followed by a merger with Translations.com. Following the merger, she served as a division president at Translations.com, and in 2010 she founded Epik Global Solutions, LCC. Today she and her team focus on providing customized solutions specific to customers needs, while making globalization, internationalization and localization best-practices easily accessible to to US and internationally based companies.
Epik has a wealth of experience in building consulting and technical services from scratch; first with the creation of International Language Engineering (ILE)'s Internationalization Consulting business, and again in 1999 with GlobalSight's services arm, which she grew to a global 24/7 operation with support teams in the US, Europe, and Asia. Until 2006, she served as the VP of Professional Services & Customer Support at GlobalSight/Transware, bearing the responsibility for all customer-side deployments.
From 1988 to 1997, Epik worked at Xerox-PARC and its subsidiaries as a software developer for multilingual products and natural language technologies. She studied Informatics at Boğaziçi University in Istanbul, Turkey, and holds an MS in Computer Science from Southern Illinois University, with a concentration in Artificial Intelligence and Natural Language Processing (NLP).
